Insurance Services

Homes & Watson Partnership Ltd will advise on the scope of any insurance necessary to protect the Client's interests as a property owner and will:

• Assess the sums to be insured for loss of rent.
• Advise on the amount of public liability insurance as may be required, subject to availability.

In particular, Homes & Watson Partnership Ltd will:

• If instructed by the Client, arrange fire, perils and loss of rent insurance as well as public or employers' liability, plant and machinery, plate glass and such other insurance as necessary, subject to availability, through the insurers nominated from time to time by the Client.
• If required by the Client, negotiate the terms of the cover to be provided by the insurers.
• Notify the insurers of the sums to be insured
• Ensure that the premiums from tenants where the lease so provides.
• Ensure the minimum appropriate time lapses between payment of premiums and recovery from tenants.
• Deal with all claims arising as a result of damage.
• In cases where tenants are responsible for effecting insurance cover, notify them in writing of the minimum sums to be insured and where possible obtain evidence that they have obtained insurance cover for the minimum amount or more.
• When a property is sold calculate the appropriate premium refund and subsequently arrange reimbursement by the insurers for repayment to the Client, or to the tenant concerned, as appropriate.
